you’ll probably think i’m crazy

by @according2kelly on June 8, 2007

Yesterday we went to disneyland. As I was walking through the california adventures park this mosaic caught my eye. I’ve walked past it hundreds of times before, but have never really noticed it. Anyway, as I was looking at it, it occurred to me that this would make a really cool back splash in the kitchen. Maybe I’m crazy, but it just seems so fun! I especially like the idea of incorporating broken china, silver ware, and broken mugs. It won’t work in the kitchen I have now, but maybe someday!

I think that tile would be smashing in a kitchen. I'd love to have a kitchen where I could incorporate all those bright, happy, bold colors. I don't think you're crazy at all.

Willie has told me many times he wants to do that to our back splash, but he wants to make it into mountains! I will let you know if he ever gets started on that!

Totally not crazy, I've thought of doing it with a shower stall before. Well, not with cups or silverware, but with broken china.

I love colorful mosaics. I would love to learn how to do mosaic with broken china... it is on my "some day" list!

the other month i took a photo of the tile in the container store bathroom because it is so awesome and then asked one of the employees where they think that had it done - she looked at me like i was crazy.i love that you had walked past it many time but never noticed it before.
