fit for a princess

by @according2kelly on September 28, 2007

saw this in a magazine & thought it was brillant! the designer sketched the “armoire”, enlarged it & then traced it onto particle board. It was then cut, painted & hung to replace the conventional closet doors. what a fun idea for any kid’s room!

shackkris -i totally wish i could take credit. but i can't. the idea came from a magazine & i just scanned it in. but if you click on the picture & really look closely, my bet is that painting around the closet, etc. is freehand. it's just straight lines & loops, so it would be super easy to do. if i were doing it i'd use a ruler to draw the straight lines, using a really really light pencil, then just freehand the rest. hope that helps!

Kelly,I posted a comment on the Ohdeeoh site, then realized I could reach you here...yeah!I love the border you have stenciled on the wall behind the "Fit for a Princess" closet idea...the one that looks like picture frame molding with a squigly line inside. Can you share how you did this? Is it a stencil? If so, how can I get one! So cute.Thank you,Shackkris
