while my boys are busy with art projects, eating a nutritious snack , or just being boys… i sometimes imagine what it would be like to have a girl. after all, they are sugar & spice & everything nice. i’m sure my days would be filled with afternoon tea parties & princess dress-ups. & i can’t stop thinking about all the fabulous crafty projects: felt mary janes, punk rock onesies, paci clips & hair bows. until that day comes, i guess i’ll just have to live vicariously through my friends & make all the cutesy stuff for the baby showers. oh well… & if i never have a girl, i guess it’s not such a bad thing. that will definitely mean there will be less drama in the house & i won’t have to worry about fixing any one else’s hair but my own. that’s not such a bad deal.
sometimes i wonder what it would be like.
We both have boys and girls...equally wonderful and all kids drastically different...although we do agree...those boys give the 'bestest' wonderful cuddly hugs!!blessings, kari & kijsa
I just tended my 3 year old granddaughter, who is growing up in a very girlie household. I found her scaling the pantry shelves like a monkey in search of chocolate. She discovered some scissors and cut the phone cord in half. I realized the room was getting extremely hot and then noticed that she'd turned on the fireplace, then she hid from me, and wouldn't respond as I frantically searched the house...this all happened in an hour. She reminded me of...a boy.
I don't have kids.. and don't really have any plans of having them. But, I always tell my hubby that if it happens I pray for a little boy. Girls with all their frills scare me.. and the teeneage years seem like a nightmare!!! Stick with your little Bob the Builders :o)
My oldest and youngest are boys. My middle is a girl. Most days she is so much more work than my boys. She is moody and tempermental and she doesn't like to wear all the cute clothes (and shoes) that I wish she would. But I wouldn't trade her for anything because there is some sugar in there with all that spice!
I watch a 20 month old boy and him with Jackson together I feel like I have 2 crazy boys and I always wonder how much less destroyed my home would be, how many fewer balls and cars we would have and how many fewer bumps on the head we would have if they were girls! But I don't know if I could handle all the drama from girls! hehe
you know? i finally made peace with the fact that i will only have two boys.....and since i am 40 years old, i take offense when people ask me, "so do you regret not having a girl?" if you consider it, it's an obnoxious thing to inquire.....
Girls are fun, I admit, but they can be VERY hormonal and moody too. Even when they are really little.
i know i know... i'm not really all the worried about having a little girl. but when i'm making all this cute girly stuff, my mind just tends to wander. i've been slacking with my "shop" so over the next little while hopefully i'll get a chance to add some new stuff.
Kelly...did you really make all those items? You are too much...you forsure get the Super Momma Award!! If you make those binki clips and can do them for boys, I would LOVE one of them?! You better come over next time you come into town...seriously!! Let me know when & I'll give you my cell so we can meet up, I would so enjoy it!
I'm pregnant with our 5th and wonder what it would be like to have a BOY. So far it's been all girls around here and I think I would almost feel like a first-time parent with a boy.
I feel the same as Ashlee yesterday I did my little Sugar and spices hair 5 times ( that was not an exageration) Not to mention you will have like five times the laundry they just can't be seen in the same thing twice in one day you know what I mean....
Girls are definitely not all sugar and spice and everything nice. Trust me. :0) My daughter is sassy and spunk with her hair full of gunk. But I love her all the same.
3 daughters here and I love it!Girls are so fun, and even though they are much more emotional, they are so much more mellow! My sister in law told me to come over and check out your jewelry, but I can't seem to find it.I am from CA too, where are you?
Thank goodness I had one of each right off the bat. My pregnancies were awful. It sounds like you may try again in the future :) My little girl has been easier for me thus far, but I know what girls are like as teenagers - I was, or am, whatever - a girl! That's the scary part!-Shannon
You are way too young to be bemoaning not having girls!Elliott and I had two wonderful boys first... And then got two cute little girls. You have plenty of time to keep trying! ;-)
Boys and girls are definitely different! I have one girl (oldest) and 2 little boys. My boys are more destructive and louder, but my older one is so adventurous and imaginative. My daughter is girly and pink and likes feminine things, but she is very emotional and dramatic. They are all fun, though, in their own way.
