D.I.Y. boutique wipes case tutorial

by @according2kelly on June 9, 2009

lately, my crafting time is either very limited or totally non-existant… which makes sewing anything completely out of the question. but giving up crafting cold turkey is definitely not an option. so, i’ve had to to devise some crafts that i can do standing up, holding a baby, in a very short time period. luckily, you can never have too many fancy-nancy boutique style wipes case – especially if you don’t have to pay the fancy-nancy boutique style prices…

D.I.Y. boutique wipes case tutorial
supplies needed: one travel wipes case, some batting, a fabric scrap, mod podge & sponge brush, trim and hot glue.
time needed: 1/2 hour
crafting expertise: beginner… if you can wield a glue gun, you’re good to go.

Can you show a picture of the back of the wipe case where the hinge is?
Thank you!

Give it a try now. I’m in the process of “moving” my blog, so things have been crazy. I “think” I’ve fixed it!

Perfect! This is exactly the easy type of craft that I’m looking for… easy but something that would be a very welcome gift. Plus it gives me something fun to make with all the 1/2 yard funky fabrics I have!

Hi I LOVE this craft I just tried it before I saw you tutorial and the video I watched on youtube.com did it without adding batting and mod podge and glued the ribbon all the way around…. Well lets just say it was not as pretty as I thought it would be…Yours is so much better and makes much more since. I am going to the store to get all my materials so I can try it your way…by the way I LOVE your whole website!!! I will let ya’ll know how it goes wish me luck!

Your tutorial on the boutique wipey case is the very best I have seen. I am confident now that I have printed off your tute that I can tackle these.
I have been making mitered corner receiving blankies for the newborns in the neighborhood, but this looks so much cuter.
Thanks so much for sharing with us.
Happy Easter too,
Nettie
