he’s only been riding his bike for a few months, although he’s been riding a a two-wheeler (minus the pedals) for years now. (when the little girl next door beat him in a bike race, because she had pedals, he was finally willing to trade in his balance bike for the real deal.)
after watching mom & dad race all summer long, gavin decided he wanted in “on the action.” technically he’s to young for the kid’s race, but that didn’t stop him. complete with his own (home-made) team posedion jersey, gavin officially raced his first mountain bike race last night.

Very sweet.
I had to laugh because I had never heard of a balance bike. Near me the Amish ride no-pedal bikes all the time. They look very much like a regular bicycle. Not nearly as fancy as those at your link. Amazing.
