we recently spent an amazing, not to mention sticky, icky & often times gross, morning at one of our favorite children’s museums, the discovery science museum. we explored the latest and greatest exhibit (at least according to my boys) to come to town, grossology: the (impolite) science of the human body. after learning “the good, the bad and the downright ugly about runny noses, body odor and so much more” my boys could hardly contain their excitement when they realized that we would be making our own slime to take home with us… you can only imagine the number of hours of entertainment the slime has provided.
to make your own slime you will need:
ziploc sandwich bags, 4% polyvinyl alcohol solution, saturated borax solution, food coloring & paper towels.
directions:
1. pour about 20 ml of polyvinyl alcohol solution into a ziploc bag, add a drop of food color and mix well by gently squeezing the bag.
2. add 5ml borax solution. seal the bag and mix it by gently squeezing the bag.
* if your slime is watery, add more of the polyvinyl alcohol solution to thicken.

Ha!! Eli, at 3, is just starting to get into the boy gross stuff! I’m thinking that because he has a little sister he wasn’t as quick as the other boys. For now, they both play dolls or army with the same amount of joy!
