today, our featured blogger is is the superstar – danyelle of dandee. danyelle writes…

Hello, hello! My name is Danyelle. I’m a mother to five lovely little people, I have a dog named Sam, I crave road trips + wedding cake and I blog at Dandee.
Instead of giving your children’s teachers a gift card for Christmas, how about a personalized letter writing kit? The supplies are inexpensive and can be modified to fit your teachers specific style and taste. To get started you’ll need to gather:
– a wooden cigar box found at any craft store for under $5
– Japanese masking tape
– pencils
– patterned paper + embellishments that fit your color scheme
– envelopes + stamps

I lined the cigar box by gluing patterned paper to the inside. The personalized stationery + tag for the outside of the box was created with Adobe Illustrator but you could use any word processing program and handwriting fonts from Dafont.com.

Packaging the elements sweetly with pretty ribbon and bakers twine adds the perfect finishing touch.

The best thing about these kits? They’re really versatile. Last year I created similar kits for my nieces and they loved them! Need more gift giving ideas? Visit my “projects” page for more inspiration.

Thanks for having me, Kelly!

This is such a fab idea. I need to file this one away... I love the idea for teachers' gifts, too.

What a great idea! I'm moving to Australia in November, so I could make these to give to all my friends here in Vancouver!
