spooky science
{at the discovery science center}

one of our favorite museums in orange county? the discovery science center – for sure.

it’s a science museum with a very “hands-on” approach that entertains adults, just as much as kids.

& just in time for halloween, they are practicing “spooky science.”

we spent our most recent trip to the discovery science center learning about pumpkins (did you know that antarctica is the ONLY continent that does not grow pumpkins? & that pumpkins are 90% water?!), exploring a spooky 3-D glow-in-the-dark-maze, checking out spiders of all shapes & sizes, making our own glow-in-the-dark slime & decorating pumpkins.

we also took the opportunity to explore the new exhibit the science of ripley’s believe it or not!

which was filled with a  crazy collection of intriguing objects & sometimes astonishing artifacts from ripley’s believe it or not – keeping me & the kids entertained for literally hours.

the kids crawled through (& on) a life-size model of a prehistoric snake, measured themselves up against robert wadlow, the world’s tallest man, who grew to 8 feet 11 inches tall, learned about optical illusions, & danced the night away in the disco dance party.

we had a blast. & the kids are already asking to go back. re-affirming that the discovery science center is definitely one of our favorite orange county adventures.

disclaimer: i was invited to spooky science as a member of the “press.” all opinions are my own & i’ve loved, & have had annual membership for the discovery science for years.
